The installers central hub

We are so used to connecting apps and systems in many areas of our daily lives. Business shouldn’t be any different argues Business Pilot Managing Director, Elton Boocock.

Created for installers, by installers, Business Pilot was always, and will always be based on the simple mission to improve the lives of installers. A key part of that is making the day to day easier, more efficient and with improved accuracy. This includes connecting the various systems an installer uses to run their business.

The Business Pilot business management system has all the core features you need to run an installation company. There are though, some other systems that cater for specific needs you have, outside of business management. Take accounting for example.

“We are achieving our ambition to be the very best at what we do, and the way to keep being the best is to connect with others, not try to encompass everything”

When it comes to pricing software, accounting, or competent person schemes, these are perfect examples of where we believe the installer is far better served by Business Pilot providing robust connections between systems to make the integration as seamless as possible for our shared users.

We have successfully done that across various needs including the three use cases given. At the recent FIT Show, we had CERTASS on the stand, and FENSA next door. It was a great physical representation of the close partnerships we hold. We link with both schemes and save quite literally hundreds of hours of re-keying information. When we tell people that they don’t need to use the FENSA portal for example, and that the registration is a one-click button inside of Business Pilot, they can’t believe how much hassle that will save them.

Business Pilot does the same with other systems whether that be Xero accounts, Windowlink Focus, Tommy Trinder or other popular systems you use. Our approach is open arms. We are not only happy to connect with any system that has a shared audience, but we are also pro-active in this approach.

“We wish all systems would connect in this way. In an ideal world, installers should be able to connect their preferred business management system with their preferred accounting package, pricing software, competency scheme, marketing tools etc.”

This approach to openness is great for installers as it means each software provider has to remain on their A game every single day to avoid being ‘swapped out’. This is a scenario that we relish. When Business Pilot entered the market, we were not the only business management system for installers. Therefore, to see the meteoric rise that we have, we needed to be miles ahead of any competition.

We also know to maintain our position; we need to continue to race ahead. It’s why we recently doubled our development resource to improve upon our pace of feature roll outs. Over the last 12 months, we have released 380 updates. They range from small feature optimisations to big features like our group and branch structures. They also include integrations with other apps of course.

We continue to reach out to providers of other systems that help installers, and welcome approaches from them in relation to creating an integration between the systems. The future in this space looks very exciting for installers and we are proud to be leading the way.
