Why we love Personalised Dashboards

Anyone that uses Business Pilot knows that it is full of features that make installer’s lives easier and more productive. After all, we are installers ourselves. Within those features, there are some that we would go as far as saying we ‘LOVE’! The personalised dashboards have earned their place on that list.

There are lots of reports and a whole Management Information section within Business Pilot, but the dashboards are what you first see when you log in every day. So, having details shown that are specific to the role you play within the business helps you to be more ‘on top’ of everything you have responsibility for.

For example, if you work in Sales, you see you appointments for the day, your sales summary and where you are against your targets. This is all information that is personal to you and no relevance let’s say to someone in Ops. If you work in the ops team you will see your appointments, the status of contracts etc.

One thing in common across the dashboards, whether it be for sales, survey, ops or service, is the ‘feed’. This is almost like a great feature within a great feature! Within Business Pilot we have what is referred to as a ‘tagging’ system. This means that if you are adding notes to a contract, but you want someone else to take note, you can tag them in by just using the @ symbol and their name as you would for example within social media platforms. This results in the person seeing that within their ‘feed’.

Tagging a person is very different to assigning them a task, which can also be done of course. Assigning a task anywhere within the system to another user will have a similar effect in that it will appear on their personal dashboard, but the key difference is that they are expected to do something about the task, not just be kept in the loop.

So far, we have just spoken about some of the functionality within the personal dashboards. However, the reason we added it to our What We Love list is due to how much easier it makes your job and as a knock on from that, how much more efficient you become.

Used properly across the team, you will never drop the ball again. That alone saves you time and money whilst having a positive impact on your customers experience.

The question is, when you log in to your CRM system, or use whatever system you currently use (even diary, excel, whiteboard), do you have everything you need to know instantly at your fingertips. And is that information with you at all times, from your phone, tablet, laptop or desktop, wherever you are? And if it isn’t, just imagine what having that would do for your business. And how much easier your job would be. That’s why we love personal dashboards!
