NEW: Sign-in to Business Pilot Using your Microsoft Login

Single sign-on (SSO) is a secure authentication solution that enables software users to log-in to multiple systems using one username and password.

It reduces the number of individual usernames and passwords across websites, Apps and other software to minimise the risk of security breaches.

As part of our commitment to developing the most advanced and secure system, we have now introduced single sign-on for Business Pilot customers who use Microsoft Business (Office 365) accounts.

Using a native sign-in method such as Microsoft offers a secure way to sign-in to Business Pilot and once this has been set-up, you will only be able to login using your Microsoft login details. Your old Business Pilot login and password will become redundant.

Additionally, and to ensure maximum security, your Microsoft account must be set-up with the Microsoft Authenticator App – you can read more about this and download the App here.

Once you have set-up this new sign-in method, BPmail will no longer work via SMTP settings within the Business Pilot system. Instead, emails will automatically send from your Outlook mailbox.

How to set-up Microsoft log-in

IMPORTANT: In order to log-in to Business Pilot using your Microsoft account, your Microsoft email address must be an exact match to the email address you currently use to sign-in to Business Pilot.

When you go to sign in to Business Pilot, you will see that the log-in screen has changed and now shows the option to sign-in with Microsoft.

The first time you do this, you will see a ‘permissions requested’ screen, please allow all permissions.

If you are an Admin of the Office 365 company account, you can consent and agree to these permissions on behalf of your entire organisation.

Once you are logged in, you will now see this message in Company Settings in the Admin area. You will be able to send a test email to check that everything has connected.

Email Signatures

For any emails sent from the Business Pilot system, your Business Pilot signature settings will pull through as normal.

Please note for customers using hosted email servers other than Office 365 you should continue to log in with your standard Business Pilot sign-in credentials.

For customers who use Google accounts rather than Microsoft, we are planning a similar development so you will be able to sign in using your Google account in the future. We’ll let you know when this is available.

If you have any questions about this new sign-in method, please do not hesitate to contact our Support Team via the live chat or on 0333 050 7632.
