Zapier is an automation platform that helps businesses to automate workflows to save time and increase efficiency.
What's a Zap?
Zapier connects Apps together using ‘Zaps’.
Think of them as the connectors that can integrate Business Pilot with the other systems you use, such as MailChimp or Google Drive.
They work by creating a ‘Trigger’ in one system that results in an ‘Action’ in another system.
They are simple and can be set up in just minutes!
Triggers are fired when a new item in a list is found, e.g. a new Enquiry was received or a new Contract was created.
Actions are either where you are updating something in Business Pilot or you want to run a search to find a list of items.
We have created a variety of Triggers and Actions to create Zaps that work with the Business Pilot system.
When thinking of a Zap its best to start with a use case.
This might be: ‘Every time a new enquiry is received I would like to add it to a list in Mailchimp’.
In which case you could initiate your Zap by using the New Enquiry Trigger and then connect that to a specified list in Mailchimp.
Zapier can also handle duplicate matching so you don’t have to worry about that.
Zapier offers a free Starter plan, which allows for unlimited two step Zaps. What this means is that you can have two step Zaps, e.g. a Trigger for listening for new or update items, and then an Action to do something with that new item.
For the free plan you can have up to 100 Tasks/Month. That is 100 runs of any Zap you create. You will likely find that this runs out fairly quickly over the course of a month, but for testing it’s useful.
The professional Zaps plan starts at £15.98* per month and allows you to have unlimited multi step zaps and up to 750 tasks per month.
Zapier also have a variety of other tools such as Tables (which act like small databases), Chatbots and Interfaces (micro sites and forms) so you can get creative!
